"The Trip to Bountiful" follows the journey of widow Carrie Watts. Feeling her presence is an imposition to her son Ludie and daughter-in-law Jessie Mae, Mrs. Watts flees the confines of their Houston apartment to make a final pilgrimage to her beloved home in Bountiful. This Tony award winning play is a contemporary classic, presented in Bandon under the direction of Jason Tree.

Cast Bios


Ludie Watts, Bracken Barnett is eager to return to the stage for his first production since high school theater. A few of his past productions include, "Little Shop of Horrors"  and "Sugar." He's excited for the opportunity to perform with the Bandon Playhouse.


Roy, Dan Barnett has been on the Bandon stage for numerous productions, most recently in the Bandon Playhouse production of "Grease." He also performs every year at the Sawdust Theater in Coquille, Oregon. He is the Bandon Playhouse President. Dan and his wife Lynn are co-owners of Billy Smoothboar's Restaurant, here in Bandon.

Dulce HJavill

Ticket Agent II, Dulce Havill took a drama class in college that she says, “Was so much fun!” After that, most of her life (30 years), was spent in rural Alaska where there was no opportunity to be in a play. She is now happy to live in Bandon where she has the opportunity to participate in a theater production.

johnna Hickox

Carrie Watts, Johnna Hickox was bitten by the acting bug in 2004 when she tried out for and got a part in "Jake’s Women." Since then she has enjoyed roles in several plays, including "Steel Magnolias" and "On Golden Pond" with the Bandon Playhouse, and "Enchanted April" with the Coos Bay Waterfront Players. Her earliest stage performance was dancing the hula at age two.

Nicholas Martin

Sheriff, Nicholas Martin is no stranger to the stage. In the past, Nicholas' role has been behind the scenes as lighting technician and set designer. Nicholas was active in the community theatre scene in his home town of Glenwood Springs, CO and has worked independent stage and film productions. He is a freelance writer, photographer/film-maker, documenting the Oregon Coast Trail. He works at Bandon Dunes and contributes to the Bandon Dunes blog. He is married with two great kids.

Geneva Miller

Jessie Mae Watts, Geneva Miller is a Bandon resident who plays with words on and off stage. Among her Bandon Playhouse acting credits are Sheila in "Boys Next Door," Hermia in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and Sylvia Plath in "Letters Home." Geneva is a freelance journalist and contributing reporter for the Bandon Western World and World newspapers.

Cathy Underdown

Thelma, Cathy Underdown lives in Bandon with her 16-year-old twins Darby and Max. She’s been involved with several Bandon Playhouse productions. She keeps busy, dividing  her time between family and her Bandon Golf Supply business. But she can’t seem to ignore the call of the stage. She has great affection for the community of Bandon and appreciates the support shown for the theater.

Gareth Williams

Ticket Agent I, Gareth Williams joins the cast of "The Trip to Bountiful" for his 17th performance with the Bandon Playhouse. His first Playhouse role was as Judge Martin Group in the 2006 musical "Here's Love." His latest Playhouse role was that of adult Eugene in "Grease." Gareth also performed his signature tenor solo, "Danny Boy" in the 2013 Bandon Feeds the Hungry variety show.

Jason Tree

Director, Jason Tree has performed with the Bandon Playhouse for many years. Some plays of note: "Strange Snow," and  "True West." He directed "Steel Magnolias," "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest," and "On Golden Pond." Jason grew up around show business and can't seem to shake it!

Stephanie Precourt

Assistant Director, Stephanie Precourt recently moved to Bandon all the way from Chicagoland with her family of six. She manages online content for the national "Listen To Your Mother" show and blogs for’s award winning "Mommalogues." While Stephanie has performed on stage since the age of eight, this is her first time as assistant director, and she feels right at home in this beautiful theater by the sea.
